I’m Carlos Rodrigo.
I love to build products that makes a huge impact in people
One of my first memories is watching The Grendizer, an old anime about a Giant Mecha defeating enemies. That is where my desire to be part of the technology world started.
When my family got a computer, I thought it was an inflection point that I would be able to build a robot or be the next Bill Gates. But then I realized it was more difficult than I thought, and I couldn’t magically start writing code. There, I realized that life is about crafting a skill and having passion, that there is no magic, and that you have to sit, read, write, learn, fail, cry if you need to, and try again.
After a few years, when I was 12, I was into Magic the Gathering. I live in Neuquen, a province in the south of Argentina, and there aren’t many places where you can buy cards or even play. However, I could travel frequently to Buenos Aires, and I started to purchase cards there and then sell them when I was back home. That experience taught me that I can make my own money and that doing something that I love is compatible.
When I was in college, I was a bad coder. I didn’t get it. And I hated it because building software was the closest thing I had to building giant robots. I made the click at my first job as technical support in a company that creates software for buying and selling titles in the Argentinian Electronic Market. There, I started to participate in building small features, and when I had to go to the clients and install the new version of the software (yeah, I’m old enough to remember when SAAS and cloud computing weren’t a thing yet), I saw people using the features I helped to build. I’m getting better at code and hungry about the impact I made on people using software.
Today, I'm 37 years old, I have built an amazing family besides my fantastic wife Lucila and our three kids. I have over 14 years of experience building products for startups and large companies. I'm a software engineer with a master's in business administration who gets involved not just in the technical aspect of a product, like scaling or raising the quality bar of the code, but also in the business kip's, UX and analytics because that's how I can build better products, knowing all the aspects of it.
The above experiences are part of my origin history and built the professional I am now.
